Demi is the chair of ISO, the national student association. With a heart for education, Demi advocates for over 800,000 students, striving towards a safe and inclusive educational environment. As the association’s spokesperson, she navigates external relations, engaging with the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science and other stakeholders. In this capacity, she represents students within various platforms, such as the SER youth platform and Raad voor de Toekomst. Demi’s work is focused on promoting youth participation, future-proof policymaking, and quality education. In 2022, she organized a Sustainability Week at Maastricht University. On a local level, she established and guided a youth council in Venlo, ensuring its recognition as an official advisory body. Additionally, as a board member of JNL, she provided support to local youth representatives, empowering them to influence policy within their communities. Demi is a passionate advocate for positive change in education and beyond.
