Charging the energy transition with Darel, engineer, former city council member Delft

Rick van den Brink is a consultant at Darel, where he drives transformative change in large industrial projects. As a city council member he was spokesperson on climate, governance and social welfare. During his tenure he allocated €15 million to climate action, took decisive measures to support businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, and played a key role in negotiating the new coalition agreement. Driven by the belief that change is the end result of all true learning, he led efforts to incorporate sustainability into the curricula at TU Delft and today regularly delivers masterclasses to high school students. Additionally, Rick supported the healthcare tech start-up AiDx Medical by developing a brightfield microscope solution to diagnose Malaria and Tuberculosis. Rick’s work consistently focuses on the intersection of technology, sustainability, and social impact.
