Robert Metzke
SVP and Global Head of Sustainability at Philips
With over 16 years at Philips, Robert Metzke currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Sustainability. In this role, Robert focuses on developing and implementing Philips’ Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, programs, policies, and capabilities to fulfill the company’s ESG commitments and align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. As a member of the Philips Innovation Board, ESG Committee, I&S Leadership Team, I&D Council, and Philips Foundation Board, Robert drives the sustainability agenda as an integral part of Philips’ purpose, strategy, and operations.
Robert is passionate about the potential of purpose-driven businesses to address global sustainable development challenges and create long-term value for all stakeholders. His leadership at Philips centers on working with leading care providers worldwide to enhance access to quality care and deliver low-carbon, circular, and eco-designed solutions.
Beyond Philips, Robert serves as a Trustee for FundaciĆ³n InnovaciĆ³n Bankinter since June 2019, promoting sustainable value in Spain through innovation and entrepreneurship. He is also a Member of the Executive Board at Circularity Capital LLP since January 2015, supporting small to medium-sized businesses in leveraging the circular economy for commercial success.
Prior to joining Philips, Robert was a Consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he led strategy and innovation projects in the high-tech, healthcare, and public sectors across Europe and the Middle East.
