Ilyes is building healthcare that fits within our planetary boundaries. Healthcare that is circular and sustainable. He is currently Program manager Sustainability at Zilveren Kruis. Previously, he was Chief Sustainability Officer at the Dijklander Hospital. He worked within and outside the walls of the hospital to make the care provided and the sector more sustainable. Since 2014, he has been working on making organizations more sustainable. He is co-founder of the Green Officer VU and he has guided NGOs and large corporates on their sustainability strategy. In addition, he creates a podcast “New Stewards” in which he speaks with Islamic sustainability leaders from all over the world. His goal is to inspire and empower Muslims to become leaders in sustainability.
