Iris Vrolijks

Councilor, Program Manager and Sociologist in training

Iris is a sociologist in training, program manager at the training institute De Baak and councilmember for the PvdA. Achieving equal opportunities is central to everything Iris does. As one of the youngest councilmembers in the Netherlands, Iris knows how important it is for young people to sit at the table in discussions about the future. In her work at De Baak she also sees how new leaders should have a healthy mix of compassion, vision, and self-reflection. During her study “Urban Issues” at Erasmus University, Iris sees how choices by both public and private institutions determine equality in cities. Iris wants to contribute to a society that is future-proof at every level and believes that the 2100 network contributes to this.
